Peer Review Process
Publication of articles in Socrates: Journal of Education, Philosophy and Psychology is solely dependent on scientific validity and coherence as judged by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the paper is understandable and whether it is a useful contribution to the field. Socrates: Journal of Education, Philosophy and Psychology acknowledges the efforts and suggestions made by its reviewers.
Initial Evaluation of Manuscripts
The editors will first evaluate all submitted manuscripts. Although rare, it is possible to receive exceptional manuscripts at this stage. Those rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific weaknesses, or fall outside the aims and scope of Socrates Journal. Those that meet the minimum criteria are forwarded to the reviewer team for review.
Type of Peer Review
A submitted manuscript will generally be reviewed by two to three experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound, whether it is a duplicate of previously published work, and whether it is sufficiently clear to be published. The method is blind peer review.
Review Reports
Reviewers are asked to evaluate:

Errors (terminology and procedures),
Experimental design,
Methodology used by the reported study,
Significance and importance of the findings,
Originality and implications for the field,
Missing or inaccurate references,
Has results/findings presented clearly and support the conclusions, and
Follows appropriate ethical guidelines.
Reviewers are not expected to correct or copyedit the manuscript. Language correction is not part of the peer review process.
Decision
Reviewers advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. The editor will reach a decision based on this report and, if necessary, they will consult with the Editorial Board members. The editor's decision is final.
